KidStrong is a kids training programme for kids from 18months to 11 years old. Focusing on cognitive, physical and character development, they run weekly classes at their centres across the US. These classes are delivered by trained Coaches informed by a monthly curriculum curated by an expert team.
With three distinct digital products across different platforms, maintaining visual consistency was paramount. I oversaw the development of the design system covering mobile, tablet, and TV interfaces.
In the first year, I worked solo, developing three digital products concurrently. As the workload grew, we expanded the team to three designers, whom I managed and mentored.
My work typically involves the creation of websites, digital products, software prototypes, animations and more.
My real strength tends to be around the ideation and prototyping stage of products. I have helped many clients realise their ideas and bring them to life. This informs stakeholders on what they are getting, allows for focused and effective user testing, and is invaluable in informing engineering on what to build.
With over 80 centers across the US, it was evident that KidStrong was successful. As the sole designer on the team, I initially identified opportunities and needs for digital products. This included conducting workshops with stakeholders, surveying staff and customers, and observing the class experience in a centre.
Through this research we identified the need for three new products:
Assisting coaches in class and delivering consistent, memorable experiences.
Supporting and improving daily operations.
Enhancing the experience for parents.
With over 80 centres across the US they were clearly doing plenty right. As the sole designer in the team I began by identifying where there were opportunities and needs for digital products . This involved workshops with stakeholders, surveying staff and customers as well as observing the class experience in a centre.
Through this research we identified the need for three new products:
To assist coaches in class and deliver consistent, memorable experiences.
To support and Improve daily operations.
To enhance the experience for parents.
The apps I designed for KidStrong over the last three years. Each serving a different audience but working together to improve business performance, and client experience.
KSTV is a visual aid that delivers the curriculum of content to kids. It also assists the coach in delivering consistent, memorable classes, every day, across the franchise.
Explore projectTo support the weekly programme I designed an app for parents, giving them access to their kids progress, sending them class photos, and many other features.
Explore projectWhen I joined KidStrong, classes and kids progress were managed on paper cards. I designed an app that is now used to manage day to day operations for all centres, revolutionising the quality of experience for staff and customers.
