This is a unique product as it needs to serve three very different users.
Coaches: there are currently over 300 coaches delivering classes so it needed to be intuitive to use. The TV is their conductor and they rely on it to deliver class clearly and consistently.
Kids: need to find it engaging and understand what is being presented to them. They need it to be familiar but not feel repetitive and boring.
Parents: observe the classes, they need it to explain the relevance of the curriculum. They want to see results and understand how the programme progresses over time.
Through research, engaging with parents, coaches and observing classes I helped the team identify moments of class where the TV can be used to create anticipation, excitement and memorable rewards. We wanted the experience for kids and parents to be educational, fun and rewarding.
After numerous workshops with the programming team and Coaches, we identified and prioritised the key areas of class where design would have the most impact.
Arriving at class was identified as a key moment where we could add value. Taking inspiration from the gaming world I designed a virtual lobby that checked in kids at they arrived to class. Seeing their names and photos and welcoming them created excitement and anticipation bringing smiles to kids and parents.

The end of class is when kids and parents receive various rewards. For this moment I designed an awards ceremony for the TV. This assisted Coaches in delivering consistent awards, and acted as a backdrop to the ceremony making the experience memorable and sharable.
Taking inspiration from popular kids educational/entertainment I created re-usable mini game templates for the team. This elevated the experience beyond a set of slides into more dynamic and interactive experiences.
This example is a prototype for a dynamic template enabling the programming team to create more interactive and engaging sections of class.

Classes are 45mins long, they change weekly and cater to several age ranges. With such a vast amount of content to create, and curriculum to design, the programming team needed a way to streamline this process.
Through workshops and observing the existing process I helped create a visual grid system enabling them to build classes from predesigned templates. This provided more visually consistent classes, and made significant improvements to the teams workflow and output.
